I've definitely been having a yellow moment lately so no surprise this chair railing shoe rack caught my eye! Only drawback? I'm very much a flats girl... But the good news is that all this needs is either a short shelf mounted above each railing or (my fave) some cool knobs.

Now all that's left is to find a place of our own!

  1. I loved that chair rail too the first time I saw it. I am trying to find a shoe storage solution for my front entrance. I mostly have flats, too. But I am having trouble picturing what you mean about hanging flats on knobs. Can you explain?

  2. Hi Erin! Wish I could do it myself to show you - maybe one day ;)

But what I had in mind was drilling the knobs into the chair railing and hanging the flats sole side out...only issue I see with it is that dirty soles aren't too pretty, but you could do a mix of small shelves mounted above for ballerinas and then hang strappy sandals etc from the knobs...

Any other ideas, please share! And thanks for reading. nx

  3. Ooooh, I understand what you meant. But yeah, it would be nicer to show the shoes off since shoes are pretty! Here's what I thought: what about making your own strap thing, kind of like this:

But with pretty ribbon and suspender clips? http://www.usabuckles.com/clips/suspender-clips/suspender-clips-3-6.JPG

Then you could put the knobs all over the wall and hang your shoes with the staps over the knobs.

You know... I might just try that!
